LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE
Licensed practical nurses are those professionals who work directly with the elderly and unwell. Day-to-day, an LPN might help residents bathe, maneuver from the bed to the bathroom, or dress.
LPNs will also administer treatment. They operate under the direction of doctors and registered nurses, and all the while, they manage and quality assure the work of nursing assistants. This role requires state licensure (which requires the completion of a one-year training program, offered through many vocational schools and community colleges), as well as some experience working with elderly individuals.
LPNs pay will vary based of job duties and hours involved.
